SHELTER STORY CONTEST WINNER!!!

Congratulations....ISABELLE TAYLOR!

Here is her story:

Lollipop

Hello, my name is Lollipop. No, do not eat me. In fact, I am a parrot from the Amazon rainforest. You must be wondering how I got from the rainforest to the all amazing Best Friends Sanctuary. I will tell you the story.

I was flying about, looking for seeds, when suddenly, I saw chestnuts on a tree branch. As soon as I stepped on the tree branch, it broke and I fell in a cage. Then, I was shipped illegally to New Mexico. Along with me, there were other animals, trapped as well. Suddenly, a cage belonging to a full-grown tabby cat slipped open. I panicked. The tabby cat knocked down my cage, and I escaped. I flew to Las Vegas, and fell unconcious in the middle of the road, due to the heat. Luckily, a nice couple came by me and scooped me up. They drove me to a sanctuary, where I got tons of attention. Children who come for volunteering visit me. I get the tastiest food and the purest water.

This weekend, I am going home with the same couple that saved me. Once, I watched television in their house. I liked the Birdie Mento Commercial. Bye!
